The oberbayerischen Förderpreis für angewandte Kunst honours special works of art by young artists in the fields of jewellery, utensils, ceramics, wood, glass, textiles, paper, metal, stone and plastic.

The winners' podium was climbed by

• Lu Cheng (prize for ‘Spalt der Verbundkörper’)
• Antonia Michl (prize for ‘Oruki’)
• Lina Killinger (prize for ‘Fluoreszenz’)
• Lukas Schreiber (prize for ‘blob’)

Recognition prizes:

• Nils Rohlfs (for the joint work with Alexander Baldessarini) (prize for ‘Wing’)
• Simon Bielmeier (prize for ‘Erinnerung - Der Träumer von Neapel’)
• Noa Jaeger (prize for ‘3-Fadenlauf: Leinwandbindung, Atlasbindung, Köperbindung’)
• Moritz Schultsteigen (Prize for ‘Völlerei’)

The ‘Holz aus Bayern’ (Wood from Bavaria) competition, to which the Fachverband Schreinerhandwerk Bayern (FSH Bayern) (Bavarian Association of Carpenters) invites all Bavarian guild carpenters every year in collaboration with the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forestry (StMELF), focuses on domestic wood as the main material. The selected exhibits, made exclusively from domestic wood, will be under the motto ‘Minimalist Furniture’ in 2024. 

The lucky winners 2024 are:  

• Schreinerei Hager for wardrobe furniture in ash 
• Schreinerei Müller, bar trolley in fir 
• Schreinerei Kaspar Orterer, seating group in fir and ash 

The honourable mention went to: 

• Bulthaup Auszubildenden Kollnburg 
• Schreinerei Stettmerhat Kontextmenü 

The most outstanding and innovative journeyman pieces in Bavaria are exhibited at the state ‘Die Gute Form’ competition. These impressive pieces, which have previously been honoured at guild level, impressively demonstrate the innovative strength and creativity of the carpentry trade.

The winners of ‘Die Gute Form’ 2024 are:
